Art Studio Associate

The Color House is hiring an art studio associate. As an Art Studio Associate, you will play a key role in providing excellent customer service and assisting customers in their experience creating art. Your ability to effectively communicate with customers and provide product knowledge will contribute to a positive experience. Strong organizational and cleaning skills are essential. Experience in the arts is required. Ideal candidate will have experience in a variety of art forms, would have some teaching/leading experience, and be willing to teach art classes and parties to groups of all ages. Reliable transportation is required.

Responsibilities & Expectations:

• Excellent customer service.

• Assist customers in selecting and completing art projects.

• Instruct classes for all ages.

• Package orders.

• Handle customer checkout properly and follow our procedures.

• Keep the studio spotless.

• Keep shelves stocked and monitor inventory.

• Maintain a clean, professional appearance.

• Contribute to the team environment with a positive attitude and friendliness.

• Host parties of all ages.

• Assist in social media content creation.

• Age 18+

• Outgoing and friendly personality. Positive vibes!

• Loves working with children.

• Excellent verbal communication skills in English.

• Organizational and cleaning skills to maintain a tidy studio.

• Previous experience in art and pottery making.

• Reliability.

• Can lift 30lbs +

• Walking, bending, squatting, lifting, standing on feet for long periods.

 

​This position is part-time, as needed, and the schedule may vary week to week. We are primarily looking for 4-8 hours per week and weekend availability (Friday 4-8, Saturday 11-3, Sunday 11-3) but there is opportunity for hours to increase as the demand of our studio increases and as we add classes and parties to our schedule.

Guest Teaching Artists​

Do you have an art or craft skill that you are an expert at and would like to share your knowledge with others? The Color House is always looking for new classes to add to our calendar. As a guest teaching artist, you would work as an independent contractor and teach an art class to a group of up to 20 people. Most classes last between 1-2 hours.

Expectations for Guest Teaching Artists:

Adequately prepare for your class.

Coordinate with the studio regarding any material needs.

Arrive early to set up your class.

Guide the class through your project.

Stay within the class timing.

Friendly and fun personality.

Clean up all materials and mess from your class session.

 

Some examples of classes: acrylic painting, watercolor, hand-building with clay, pottery wheel, craft projects, illustration, drawing. We encourage additional art forms too.
