The Station Studio Project
The old Colchester train station once served as a place where people arrived, departed, and passed through town.
Soon it will be a community place where people slow down and create.
We’re honored to bring new life, creativity, and community into such a meaningful historic space.
For the past three years in Colchester, there’s something most people didn’t realize was happening behind the scenes of The Color House.
Every single piece of pottery created or painted in our studio had to be carefully wrapped, loaded into boxes and then my car, driven to my home, unwrapped, loaded into the kiln to be fired, re-wrapped, and then brought all the way back to the studio for packaging and pickup.
Every. Single, Piece.
It was a labor of pure love…
As The Color House has grown, it became clear that if we wanted to keep creating these experiences for families and our community, we needed something we’ve never had before: a space that could house the entire pottery process under one roof.
So we made a decision that feels both exciting and a little terrifying…
The Color House is moving to the old Colchester train station.
A place that once welcomed travelers will soon welcome creativity, connection, and community.
But restoring and building out a full pottery and art studio comes with significant cost. Between renovations, electrical upgrades, and improvements to the building, this project is a huge undertaking.
This move is truly a leap of faith. And we are asking for your help.
If The Color House has meant something to you; a birthday celebration, a family outing, a quiet afternoon creating, and you'd like to help bring this next chapter to life, we’ve added some options on our website for anyone who would like to contribute and be a part of seeing this historic Colchester location be transformed and opened for the community to enjoy.
Every bit of support helps us turn this historic space into a creative home for our community.
Thank you to everyone who has encouraged and supported The Color House along the way. We're excited to see this historic building become a place filled with creativity and community once againl
With much love and gratitude,
~Tina & The Color House Team
